City of Union City Receives $2,000.00 for the Georgia Economic
Placemaking Collaboration by the Georgia Municipal Association.
(Union City, GA) - The City of Union City is excited to announce that it has been awarded the “Georgia Economic Placemaking Grant” from the Georgia Municipal Association. This grant, in the amount of $2,000.00, will help create and place pole banners along popular Union City roadways.
This project’s goal is to bring awareness to when one is within Union City Limits and help residents feel more connected to where they live. With designs featuring City landmarks, holidays, or R3 Zones.
The award, received through a competitive application process, highlights the City's commitment to enhancing community pride and collaboration.
Mayor Vince Williams stated, "The City Council and I are appreciative of this grant opportunity. It displays how important City recognition is to our fast-growing home."
City Manager, Sonja Fillingame echoed this sentiment adding, "We deeply appreciate this award as it underscores our city's commitment to uplifting our City."
The expected outcomes for this program include improved community engagement, and continued placemaking throughout the City.
