Where is the Police Department located?

We are located in downtown Union City, near the post office, at 5060 Union Street Union City, Georgia 30291.

How do I reclaim property that was taken by the Police Department?

You may reclaim your property at the Union City Police Department. You will need your government-issued identification and the property receipt for the property seized. Your property may be classified as evidence and may not be available for immediate release.

How do I request extra patrol?

You may request extra patrol for your home or business through the Union City Police Department. All requests should be made in person at the Police Department. Extra Patrol forms will be provided to you upon request. Extra patrol will be limited to five days per request.

How do I make a compliment or complaint about an officer?

Compliments and complaints can be made by completing the Compliments and complaints Form(PDF, 11KB) or in person at the Union City Police Department. Upon arrival, you should request to speak to a shift supervisor. Compliments and complaints are handled by shift supervisors or officers with higher authority. Be prepared to write your statement.

What time is the Union City Police Department open?

The Union City Police Department operates 24hrs a day. The Records Department operates Monday thru Friday 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Court Services operates Monday thru Friday 8:00AM until 4:30 PM. You may reach the Police Department at (770) 964-1333 or, for emergencies, call 911.

How do I pay a ticket?

You may pay your citation online or you can come to Court Services and pay your ticket in person. Citations less than 72 hours old may not be accessible for payment. Certain citations cannot be prepaid and require you to appear in court on your assigned court date and time.

When do I call 911?

You should call 911 when you need immediate assistance from Police, Fire or EMS. DO NOT call 911 for directions or any other non-emergency questions. Please call (770) 964-1333 or (770) 306-6849 for all non-emergency questions.

Do I have to give my name when reporting a crime?

No, inform the 911 Union City Communications Center that you would like to remain anonymous. You can also ask that any personal information be kept confidential. However, be sure to give 911 personnel detailed information about the incident.

What if I am the victim of a crime?

If you or someone you know are a victim of a crime within Union City, call the Union City Police Department as soon as possible. Operators will provide you with immediate assistance. Officers will respond to your call and assist you with reporting the crime, inform you of your rights and provide you with any victim remedies and services.

How can obtain an Accident or Incident report?

You can obtain a report by visiting our records department located at 5060 Union Street, Union City, Georgia 30291. Reports cost $5 each.

How do I get my vehicle out of impound?

The owner of the vehicle must be present to reclaim their vehicle. You may reclaim your vehicle by following these steps:

  • Make sure the vehicle’s registration and insurance are valid.
  • Come to the Union City Police Department with proof of insurance, registration, and ownership for the vehicle you are obtaining. You must also have a valid Driver’s license.
  • You will then need to go to South Side Wrecker Service located at 4990 Jonesboro Road Union City, GA 30291, about two blocks from the Police Department.

How do I obtain a background check?

You must come to the Union City Police Department with your valid government-issued identification. You will need to complete a consent form(PDF, 27KB). Background checks cost $30.00.

Where do I go to get fingerprinted?

The Union City Police Department no longer provides fingerprinting services.
