The department recently acquired four new sets of rescue tools, including heavy-rescue cutters, spreaders, telescoping rams, extended-reach tips, batteries, and charging systems. These modern tools will replace aging hydraulic equipment and give our firefighters greater portability, flexibility, and efficiency during vehicle extrication and complex rescue operations.

Before the equipment officially enters service, Mayor Williams, Union City Council, and City Administration joined Union City Fire & Emergency Services for a hands-on demonstration to see the new technology in action and learn how it will support crews in the field.

This investment is about more than new equipment. It is part of Union City’s continued commitment to ensuring our first responders have the tools, training, and resources needed to provide a high level of service to our residents, businesses, and everyone traveling through our community.

Thank you to our City leadership for supporting this important investment and to FireLine, Inc. for helping facilitate the department’s transition to its new AMKUS rescue equipment.
