Union City property owners should be aware that the Fulton County 2026 Annual Notices of Assessment were mailed on June 16, 2026. During the 2026 legislative session, lawmakers passed HB 566, which has a retroactive effective date of January 1, 2026. This legislation updates the format of the Annual Notices of Assessment and extends the homestead exemption filing period through the 45-day appeal period following the mailing of the notices. Property owners are encouraged to carefully review their notice, check for accuracy, and take note of any appeal deadlines listed. For most property owners, the appeal deadline is Friday, July 31, 2026.
