Community Development Update: 180 day Moratorium

During the March 24th 2026 regular city council meeting, Mayor and Council, unanimously (5-0), adopted a 180-day moratorium on accepting certain applications, while the zoning ordinance rewrite is underway. The moratorium will impact the acceptance, processing, and approval of applications for zoning map amendments/rezonings, text amendments and conditional use applications.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness, Union City has dedicated the month of October as “UC Pinktober.” The City will host its Annual Breast Cancer Awareness 5K and the American Society will be accepting donations and proceeds will benefit breast cancer research.

Cultura y Sabor Hispanic Heritage Festival

Union City is proud to announce its inaugural Cultura y Sabor Food Truck Festival, a lively celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, on Friday, September 25, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Eagles Nest Sports Complex (6245 Roosevelt Highway, Union City, GA 30291).
