Union City Launches Men’s 50+ Basketball League: UC Still Got Game

Union City is proud to announce the launch of UC Still Got Game, a new recreational league designed for men ages 50 and older. The initiative promotes health, camaraderie, and lifelong recreation by encouraging participants to stay active and connected through the game of basketball.Opening Day at The Gathering Place Community Center was filled with energy and excitement as players took to the court and demonstrated that passion for the game has no age limit.

The stands were packed with family members, friends, and supporters who came together to celebrate the start of what is quickly becoming one of Union City’s most inspiring community programs. UC Still Got Game represents more than a sporting event. It embodies Union City’s commitment to creating inclusive programs that strengthen community bonds, promote wellness, and enhance the quality of life for residents of all ages. Through initiatives like this, the City continues to invest in opportunities that foster active lifestyles, build friendships, and create spaces where residents can come together through shared interests.

Games are held every Sunday through October 19 from 11 AM to 1 PM at The Gathering Place Community Center, located at 6280 Bryant Street, Union City, GA 30291. Residents are encouraged to attend and cheer on the players as the league continues each week. The Men’s 50+ Basketball League is part of Union City’s broader effort to Reclaim, Renew, and Reimagine recreation opportunities that promote community pride and lifelong engagement.
