During the March 24th 2026 regular city council meeting, Mayor and Council, unanimously (5-0), adopted a 180-day moratorium on accepting certain applications, while the zoning ordinance rewrite is underway. The moratorium will impact the acceptance, processing, and approval of applications for zoning map amendments/rezonings, text amendments and conditional use applications.

Union City's Mayor and Council will not hold their regular scheduled Work Session and Council Meeting on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The Work Session (6:00 pm) and Council Meeting (7:00pm) will resume on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in the Council Chamber at City Hall.
