During the March 24th 2026 regular city council meeting, Mayor and Council, unanimously (5-0), adopted a 180-day moratorium on accepting certain applications, while the zoning ordinance rewrite is underway. The moratorium will impact the acceptance, processing, and approval of applications for zoning map amendments/rezonings, text amendments and conditional use applications.
This is an opportunity to give back, connect with neighbors, and make a visible difference in our community. Let’s work together to create a cleaner, greener Union City while continuing the spirit of service Dr. King championed. When we serve together, we grow together.
