Citizens Academy

About: The Citizens Academy is a hands-on educational program that provides residents with an in-depth understanding of how Union City government functions. Participants engage with city leaders, visit municipal facilities, and learn about city departments' roles and responsibilities. The program fosters civic engagement and encourages residents to take an active role in shaping the future of Union City.

 

City-Wide Cameras

About: The city-wide camera initiative is part of Union City’s commitment to enhancing public safety and crime prevention. Strategically placed surveillance cameras assist law enforcement in monitoring high-traffic areas, deterring criminal activity, and improving emergency response times. The program also fosters transparency and strengthens community trust in public safety efforts.

Sweet Process

About: Sweet Process is an internal workflow management system used by Union City’s government to streamline operations, document processes, and improve efficiency. It allows city departments to standardize procedures, reduce redundancies, and enhance service delivery, ensuring that municipal operations run smoothly and effectively.

Small Business Grant 

About: The Union City Small Business Grant program provides financial assistance to local businesses, particularly small and minority-owned enterprises, to support their growth and sustainability. The grant helps businesses with expenses such as rent, payroll, equipment, and marketing. By investing in small businesses, the city aims to stimulate economic growth and job creation within the community.

Union City hosts a variety of events throughout the year to celebrate community spirit, history, and civic engagement. Residents are encouraged to participate, volunteer, or attend these events to foster a sense of togetherness.

 

 

MLK Day of Service  Community Clean-Up Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, residents can volunteer to help beautify public spaces. Get involved by signing up through the city’s volunteer portal.	State of the City Address A presentation by city leadership outlining key accomplishments and future initiatives. Attend in person or watch via live stream.
Light Up the Night Laser Light Show A spectacular light show with music and entertainment. Bring family and friends for a night of fun.	Back to School Bash Providing students with essential school supplies and health services. Parents can register online for supply giveaways.
Georgia Cities Week A week-long celebration showcasing the role of municipal government. Participate in community service projects, forums, and educational activities.	Juneteenth Celebration Recognizing African American history and culture through performances and educational exhibits. Join the festivities at Ronald Bridges Park.
Union City Job Fair Connecting job seekers with local employers. Register in advance to meet potential employers.	Pinktober 5K Walk/Run Raising awareness for breast cancer research. Sign up to participate or volunteer.
Community Health Day A wellness event featuring free screenings and fitness activities. Attend for health resources and expert advice.	Veterans Day Ceremony Honoring military service members with a special tribute. Attend the event at Veterans Park.
