Delinquent Property Taxes

Tax Years 2024 & Prior

Any outstanding Union City property taxes for 2024 or prior years will continue to be collected directly by Union City. These balances remain subject to interest, penalties, and tax sale proceedings if not paid in full. The City will continue to mail out delinquent notices. For all questions, concerns or request please email finance@unioncityga.gov

 

Interest on unpaid tax bills will be applied in accordance with Georgia Code §48-2-40. Monthly interest charged on taxes not paid by due date will be calculated at one twelfth (1/12) of the federal prime rate (per each year) plus three percent.

 

Penalties on unpaid taxes will be applied in accordance with Georgia Code §48-2-44. A 5% penalty will be assessed if not paid by 120 days after the due date and an additional 5% will be added every 120 days with a maximum of 20%.

Excess Funds Claim

If you believe you are eligible to claim excess funds, please complete the attached Excess Funds Claim Form(PDF, 123KB). The form must be signed and notarized. Ensure that a clear copy of your valid photo identification, such as a driver’s license, is included with you request.

Funds will be distributed to eligible parties based on the established priority of their interests.
